Who We Are
LGBT Melton is a non-profit organisation that was set up in Melton Mowbray in response to the isolation and discrimination faced by LGBT youth in the area. Our service offers a youth group, one to one support, counselling, training for other professionals and education in the community. As well as supporting young people, LGBT Melton also supports the campaign against homophobia, transphobia, biphobia and all other forms of discrimination.
OUR STAFF
Our Youth Groups are run by volunteer youth workers. All are highly skilled and are trained to a high standard in order to provide safe, confidential advice and support to LGBT young people and their families.
We have young volunteers/peer mentors who will be trained through our Figure 8 peer to peer mentoring programme to allow them to offer the best support possible to our members.
New 18+ LGBTQ+ Group
Coming 2020 is LGBT Melton’s new 18+ social group for the LGBTQ+ community of Melton Mowbray, Rutland, Leicestershire and surrounding areas. The group is completely confidential and will be run at the same level of professionalism as our youth groups. Workers will be on hand to provide support, information and guidance.
We we have professionals from partner agencies visiting to offer targeted advice on a regular basis.
The group will be FREE of charge to attend but all we ask is that you purchase a hot or cold beverage from us .
2019/2020
The expansion of our youth support services into Charnwood with the opening of OITNR youth group in Mountsorrel for 11-16 year olds. Held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month
This session will be hosted at Sorrel Youth Cafe, Mountsorrel.

LGBT Charnwood for 11-16 year olds held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at Fearon Hall in Loughborough.
All our sessions are FREE of charge and when available we will have food on offer.
