We are pleased to announce that our founder and manager Anthony Marvin has won the Leicester Pride Unsung Hero award 2017. He won this award because of his amazing work with and dedication to the young people. Anthony founded LGBT Melton from scratch and has dedicated every minute to making it what it is. He does all this with no funding or financial backing. He goes above and beyond for the young people and will always make time for them despite working a full time job during the day, working at as a youth worker two evenings a week and having children of his own. So i think you would agree that this award is very well deserved.
Following the success of LGBT Melton's flag ship youth group in Melton Mowbray we have decided to expand out to meet the needs of young people in other areas. So at the request of the young people, parents and local schools we decided that we would start our next youth group up in Syston. This youth group will serve the LGBT+ young people of Syston, Thurmaston, East Goscote and surrounding areas. It will be available to 14-18 year old's and will be open from 7pm to 9pm every Tuesday. The group will we held at The Syston Youth Cafe, High Street, Syston. We are so grateful to Dave Warnock and the the Hub Cafe for donating the space to us enabling us to grow our support further.
